New-To-Me Authors I Read and Want To Read

January 2, 2018

It’s 2018. What??? I am so incredibly glad 2017 is done and gone, I was so tired o it already. I hope 2018 brings positive things and peaceful energy. To start off the year, my first post will be a Top Te Tuesday!!! My December and 2017 wrap up will be coming soon too, but first things first: This week’s prompt is actually top ten new-to-me authors we read in 2017, but I also wanted to include a list of the authors that I REALLY want to try out in 2018. I wanted to split it in half to be able to look back at what I did, and look forward to what I’ll do.

I hope you enjoy this post, and leave a link to your own down below!!!

New-To-Me Authors I read in 2017

-Becky Albertalli. Books Read: 1

Simon Vs. was an amazing book. I read it or #Diverse-a-thon in ONE DAY, and I loved it so much. I can’t wait for the movie to come out! The trailer was my FAVORITE.

-Jay Kristoff. Books Read: 2

Both Nevernight and Illuminae were FANTASTIC. Kristoff’s sarcastic and dark writing style is what I love the most!

-Alexandra Bracken. Books Read: 2

Her passenger duology was the one I read by her, but I didn’t like it. This was a new author I tried, and both of her books were a disappointment to me. However, I still REALLY want to read her Darkest Minds series!

-Mindy McGinnis. Books Read: 1

Only one book was enough to convince me that McGinnis is one of my favorite authors. The Female of the Species was the best  book I read last year! (I mean 2017, this is so confusing!)

-Adam Silvera. Books Read: 3

I read ALL of his books this year and loved each of them with all my heart. He’s definitely one of my absolute favorite authors. I love the titles of all his books too!

New-To-Me Authors To Read in 2018

-David Leviathan. Book to-read: Every Day

I saw the trailer for this movie, and I HAD to get on board. It sounded SO good, and since I’ve seen this book before at my library, I know I will be able to read it soon now!

-Rae Carson. Books to-read: The Girl of Fire and Thorns series

Everybody has been raving about this series all of a sudden again, and it sounds GREAT.

-Rachel Hartman. Books to-read: Seraphina and Tess of the Road

I have an ARC of her upcoming newest release,Tess, and I CAN’T wait, especially because of the dragons!

-Holly Black. Book to-read: The Cruel Prince

This book is one of my most anticipated books of 2018. I’ve heard great things about this author, and I also want to try the series she co-wrote with Cassie Clare, The Coldest Girl i Cold Town, and another faerie book she has!

-Julie C. Dao. Book to-read: Forest of a Thousand Lanterns

For once, I tried to keep it short and concise. I hope you’re as excited about these authors as I am. 2018 will be GOOD to me, or I’ll swear to God. LOL, see you next time, guys! <3 HAPPY NEW YEAR!
