Christmas 2017 Read & Watch List

December 1, 2017

I’m back! Today is the start of the last month of the year, which also means that it is the first day of my Summer Holidays! I know for some of you who will soon have a White Christmas, hot days in December are hard to imagine. But yesterday I officially finished school and won’t be returning for the next three months!

I went on HIATUS during ALL of November because I had final exams and really had to focus only on that. But as I promised, now I’m returning once more to the blog and my uploading schedule will be back to normal! I have a lot of exciting news I’ll be sharing soon, but for now and to kick off the Holiday Season and festive mood, I’ll be writing about my Read + Watch List for December and Christmas time!

I hope you enjoy this post and let me know what are YOUR plans for the following month! It’s nice to be back.

1- Tess of the Road by Rachel Hartman

I mentioned this in one of my last posts, but I received an ARC copy of Tess of the Road by Rachel Hartman, the author of Seraphina. I am SUPER excited about reading this story and then jumping into her other series. Both Seraphina and Tess are some of the only books I know which have Dragons in them, and this is yet another reason why I’m ecstatic about reviewing Tess of the Road.

Because October was a fabulous month for new releases, I also found another Dragon book that will complement just fine with this one. I am being surrounded by Dragon stories, so I guess that the only thing I can do about it is read and read and read! I am excited about a potential month of Mythical Creatures and stories!!! We’ll see.

Synopsis: In the medieval kingdom of Goredd, women are expected to be ladies, men are their protectors, and dragons get to be whomever they want. Tess, stubbornly, is a troublemaker. You can't make a scene at your sister's wedding and break a relative's nose with one punch (no matter how pompous he is) and not suffer the consequences. As her family plans to send her to a nunnery, Tess yanks on her boots and sets out on a journey across the Southlands, alone and pretending to be a boy.

Where Tess is headed is a mystery, even to her. So when she runs into an old friend, it's a stroke of luck. This friend is a quigutl--a subspecies of dragon--who gives her both a purpose and protection on the road. But Tess is guarding a troubling secret. Her tumultuous past is a heavy burden to carry, and the memories she's tried to forget threaten to expose her to the world in more ways than one.

2- One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake

And... yet MORE exciting news! I obsessed all over Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake the last month I was active, and I told you guys about how I had immediately ordered the sequel to it! Well, not only did it arrive super quickly, but I am also planning on Buddy Reading One Dark Throne!!! Katherine from Paperback Dreamer reached out to me on Goodreads and asked me if I’d like to buddy read something with her. We agreed on this one because we both LOVED the first installment, and we will begin on December 13th!

I’ve always really wanted to Buddy Read a book with someone, but because of my busy life and school, I hadn’t been able to do it during the year yet. But Holidays bring a whole new batch of possibilities, am I right?

Anyway, check out Katherine’s blog because she is such a sweet and TONS of fun talking to!

3- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

I am trying not to fangirl too hard, but at some point, I WILL have to continue with the series, even if it means running out of books. In the following months, I’ll be finishing the entire Harry Potter series for the first time, and I don’t want to deal with what that means right now.

You can bet that as soon as I’m done I’ll start all over again.

I will read The Half-Blood Prince in December during HarryXMasToYou, the best Harry Potter read-and-watch-along-a-thon out there. It is hosted by Maureen Keavy over at Booktube and a couple of other Hosts which will be discussing one of the Harry Potter books they are assigned.

The host for The Half-Blood Prince is Hannah from A Clockwork Reader, and there will also be movie nights for all of the films!

Also, the most exciting thing is that every year there is also the HOUSE CUP COMPETITION. You can sign up with your House and participate in Trivia Nights on Twiter to win prizes and points for your house. It is a really fun thing to do and share with fellow Potter Lovers, so I would highly encourage you to join!

P.S. I encourage you EVEN MORE if you are a Ravenclaw!!! Sign Up Here

4- Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody

Finally, on my official TBR also is Daughter of the Burning City. You may remember this particular book has been featured on the blog before… yeah, well, it was the TBR winner for October.

Every month I host a poll where you vote what I should read and review next. This one was the October winner, but I only started it at the very end of the month and didn’t advance at all with it because of my blogging and reading Hiatus of November.

So, guess what? IT’S BEEN PUSHED TO DECEMBER! I promise I’ll review this because I have THOUGHTS. I’m a bit less than half-way through, so at least I have a bit of it already done. You’ll hear more about it soon.

Riverdale Season 2

I got obsessed with Riverdale as soon as my exams were over, which happened on November 21st. In 9 days I finished the entire first season and LOVED it!! I’m already tuning in for the second season and I’m excited about it. The cast is fantastic, but my overall fave is Cole Sprouse. God, I missed watching him so much!

Stranger Things Season 2

I’ve been waiting for Season 2 ever since last October, but I’m JUST getting to it now. Again, exams. Holiday time is binge-watching time for sure!

I started the first season a couple of days ago, but it is already a new fave. Comedy is my jam, besides horror and mystery. I need to have a bit of everything available because I’m a mood reader and mood T.V. watcher. Friends is another great show I’ll have tons of fun with!!

The Santa Clause

Classic Christmas movie that Disney Channel LOVES streaming every. single. year. I don’t miss a single rewatch, though.

I randomly added this movie as well because I saw it on Netflix and said, why not? I saw the trailer last year, I think, and the music sounded good. Children’s Movies are good at this time of the year too!

A Cinderella Story

Another classic and another of my favorite movies of all time. I can’t wait!!

I feel like this will be the best month yet. I feel it in my bones. I hope you enjoyed hanging out with me again for this post! Tell me what are your holiday plans, what you can’t wait to read, watch, and which titles you are going to gift your family and friends for Christmas!!! Happy Season to all of you, friends! Tell me about your happenings in the comments below!!!
